Ron as most of you know has done so much
work for IGBO as treasurer, but many are
probably not aware of the work he has done in
his own community. Ron is known for his
high degree of integrity, responsibility and
ambition. He co-founded the San Diego Gay
bowling leagues in 1999, when there was only
one gay league of 48 bowlers. It has grown to
three leagues and 180 bowlers. Ron serves as
the league coordinator, whose job is to make
sure all the leagues startup successfully each
season as well as running the community outreach
to continue to grow the gay bowling community
in San Diego. He has paid the entries
for a team of women to participate from his
San Diego Community to the women’s only
tournament LOVIT. Ron has been co-director
as well as treasurer for the San Diego tournament,
bringing the tournament back to the
days when the tournament was the hot ticket
item in the West. He also has been a mentor
to many of the new league officers and bowlers
within the community. Ron is well known in
the San Diego community for his involvement
in the bowling community as well as the gay
business community.
