 October 2006—The Oklahoma City committee has been working
hard to assure your IGBO Mid-Year 2007
tournament in November of 2007 will leave
you singing.
The committee is working to secure sponsorships
from various local businesses so that the
entire OKC community is aware that this event
is coming to our city. And, committee
fundraising efforts are well underway to underwrite
the costs of the extra events planned
for your tournament weekend.
The host hotel will be the Holiday Inn. This
is a great open atrium hotel and has been completely
blocked for your Mid-Year tournament.
A free breakfast for each guest will be provided.
Heritage Lanes and Windsor Lanes have been
secured as the host bowling centers for the
tournament. The bowling centers have hosted
our GLBT leagues for many years and know
the quality and friendliness that our tournament
bowlers have come to expect.
The banquet site for Mid-Year 2007 will be
the beautiful Silks Room at Remington Park.
The Silks is currently undergoing a multi-million
dollar remodeling and promises to be one
of the premier banquet sites in OKC. And,
there’s a remarkable new casino with hundreds
of slot machines and live horse racing just one
floor below the Silks Room.
Other events are currently in the works for the
tournament weekend. The committee looks
forward to hosting you for a wonderful weekend
of fellowship and top-notch bowling fun.
And, we hope you’ll leave singing “Everything’s
Going My Way”!
