Greetings from the South Plains. Since the last edition of the newsletter the South Plains Region has been very busy and HOT. April went out with a bang in Oklahoma City. Ken Jones ones and Tony Doryl hosted a wonderful OK Classic tournament as only they can do in Oklahoma City. All of the participants enjoyed themselves very much in spite of some missing due to the committee being forced to move the date back a week. In May we were off to Milwaukee for the annual tournament. The lane conditions were difficult, but this gave the bowlers more reason to commiserate together. The 25th Anniversary presentation was one that took me back to times and people that I haven’t thought of for a while. A big thank you to Hal Bergin and everyone who helped put this together. Congratulations to Sharon for her re-election, Reggie gie for his election as Treasurer, and all of the new Regional Directors. Reggie, I hope you are prepared for what you have gotten yourself into. Congratulations are also in order to the Denver committee for their bid presentation. We will see you in May 2007. Oklahoma City announced that they are bidding on Mid-Year 2007. We are all looking forward to seeing their presentation in Calgary. The first of June, Austin TX. was the site of a HOTT weekend with the Heart Of Texas Tournament, Directed by Tom Leger. When not bowling the participants were off two stepping at the local clubs, devouring the fantastic food and viewing the sights in the capital city. We celebrated the birth of our nation in Houston over the 4th of July weekend. David Willis was the director of this tournament extravaganza. With the help of the owners and staff of the host bar, Guava Lamp, everyone had a wonderful time, whether they could remember it or not. July concluded with us back north of the Red river in Oklahoma for the TILT tournament. Jeff Clark, Bill Duncan Duncan, and Joe Cuzalina where the co-directors for this event. These guys treated us to their own Okie hospitality. By the second week in August I was once again home in the Dallas area for the Big D Classic tournament, directed by Danny Miller Miller, Dennis Street and Janiece Carter. I guess being back home felt so good that I forgot to bowl (well that is another story). Oh well there is always next time. By the time this is published we will have attended the TIGHT tournament in Austin, directed by James ames Thigpen higpen higpen, and DICDT in Dallas, directed by James P Pounders ounders. We have noticed a drop in the number of participants in the tournaments this year, but I think I can speak for all of those that are attending that everyone is having the time of their lives. Even with the fewer participants the Unity, Fellowship, and Communication have not suffered a bit. I must give a big THANK YOU to everyone in the South Plains Region. You are the best.
