May 20, 2020 ATTENTION IGBO REPS:
With the cancellation of IGBO Annual 2020 in Seattle we have received several questions regarding the Multi- City raffle that is being conducted to raise funds for Long Beach (LA) in November.
Below you will find some answers to your questions regarding the Multi-city raffle:
A1 – throw them in the trash but we would prefer for you to do try A2 if possible.
A2 – Sell remotely / virtually – Meaning over the phone, via email, or via social media. Ask if anyone would like to buy some. If they do, then get them to send the funds via an online payment, such as Cash App, Zelle or Venmo. You put their info on the tickets and send the tickets and funds to the fundraising address.
Please note: We are extending the deadline to turn in or buy more tickets to June 15th. This will allow you to try and sell the remaining tickets you have left remotely/virtually or, if you don’t have any tickets and someone wants to buy some have them contact the fundraising directly and we will work with them to process the funding and assign tickets.
Our next Multi-City raffle starting in July / August?
If you have any further questions or need clarification please contact the fundraising chair at 214-529- 0416 or email firstname.lastname@example.org and we will assist you as best he can.
Turn in and/or buy tickets by June 15th. Drawing will be held June 20th.
Send tickets and Check or Money Order to:

IGBO Fundraising Committee
Dear IGBO members,
We hope that you have all remained safe and sound, as our country has navigated through this Covid-19 crisis. We want to express our gratitude to our members for your patience as we have worked through the cancellation process with Renaissance Seattle Hotel for IGBO Annual 2020 in Seattle.
With the help of Nick Jasper, who obtained the help of a local lawyer, we were able to get released from the contract with no penalties to the organization. The Seattle committee has released an email already to all those bowlers that were signed up to participate with an explanation of how certain things will be handled on their end. We cannot thank Nick enough for all his hard work through this crazy process.
IGBO Treasurer, Terri Paulk, will start to process refunds and will try to complete the process as quickly as possible. The process will include reaching out to bowlers to verify information. We ask for your patience during this time, as it is not an overnight task and will take time to do it accurately. Please respond back to any inquires from Terri Paulk or Mark MacBain as quickly as you can. A notice will be posted on the IGBO website and the IGBO 2020 Seattle website once this entire process is complete.
The Renaissance Hotel has already done a mass cancellation and by now you should have received your cancellation notice. If you did not receive an email confirming your reservation cancellation, we encourage you to call the hotel directly.
The Seattle committee was ready to show us all a good time and we owe them a thank-you along with our heartfelt gratitude for their hard work for over the last two years. They have been amazing to work with throughout this process. We hope that once the Seattle committee has regrouped, there will be future plans to host an IGBO’s Annual event so our members have the opportunity to experience all that Seattle offers.
As each state starts to reopen or prepare to reopen, we hope all of you and your loved ones remain safe. Thank you all again for your patience and we look forward to a future time when we can share the lanes together making memories that last for years to come. Stay safe
Yours in unity, fellowship and communication,
The Board of IGBO
